Living and working in Riyadh
A single professional should budget around SAR 9,800 per month here, excluding school fees.
Living in Riyadh
The capital, and the largest professional job market in the Kingdom. Inland, so summers are dry and very hot while winter nights are genuinely cold.
- Housing is the most expensive of the major cities. Compounds remain popular with international families for the community and facilities; standalone apartments are cheaper and increasingly common.
- Schools: the widest choice of international curricula anywhere in the Kingdom, and the most competitive admissions. Apply early.
- Getting around: the metro network has changed daily life in the districts it serves. Elsewhere a car is still necessary.
- Work: government, finance, technology and the headquarters of most giga-project entities.
