What Diriyah Company is

Diriyah Company is owned by the Public Investment Fund and is developing the 14-square-kilometre Diriyah master plan and the adjacent Wadi Safar on the outskirts of Riyadh. The plan is built around At-Turaif, the mud-brick district UNESCO listed as a World Heritage site in 2010. PIF named Diriyah its fifth giga-project in January 2023. By August 2026 the company said it had awarded more than SR110 billion in development contracts to local and international companies.

What the company has said it is building is the best public guide to the functions it will need. In February 2025 its group CEO described:

40 luxury hotels;
in Diriyah Square, a 1.9 km boulevard with a contemporary art museum, a 20,000-seat arena, an exhibition centre and an opera house;
an extensive range of retail and dining.

In July 2024 ownership of Diriyah Sports Club passed from the Ministry of Sport to Diriyah Co.

What candidates should know

Two names, one site

Press coverage uses both "Diriyah Co." and "Diriyah Gate Development Authority" (DGDA). The same group CEO, Jerry Inzerillo, was described as group CEO of the DGDA in February 2025 and as group CEO of Diriyah Co. in August 2026. Even the July 2024 report of the sports club moving to Diriyah Co. quoted him describing the transfer as one to the DGDA. The government entrusted the DGDA with redeveloping Diriyah in 2017. When PIF named Diriyah a giga-project in January 2023, Arab News reported that the DGDA would continue to supervise the site. Diriyah Co. is owned by PIF.

None of those sources sets out how the two bodies relate today, or which of them employs staff. So check which entity is named on your offer and ask the recruiter to confirm it in writing. Construction runs through contractors

The SR110 billion in contract awards went to outside firms. The company said in August 2026 that more than 63,000 workers are employed across its development areas. If a Diriyah construction role is advertised by a contractor, the contractor is your employer, not Diriyah Co. Ask whether your contract is tied to the duration of that contractor's package.

This is a Riyadh job

Diriyah sits on the outskirts of the capital, along Wadi Hanifa. There is no remote site to relocate to: housing, schooling and commuting are Riyadh's, so budget with the cost of living guide. See Diriyah and Riyadh.

Timeline and scope, on the record

January 2023: PIF named Diriyah its fifth giga-project.
February 2025: the group CEO said major infrastructure, including 60,000 underground parking spaces, would be complete by 2027.
15 April 2026: PIF's governor said the next phase of NEOM and other mega-projects will aim to meet targets with less direct PIF funding.
August 2026: Diriyah Co. signed an SR2 billion financing agreement with Arab National Bank for hotel-branded residences in Diriyah and Wadi Safar.

In the sources we checked, we found no announced reduction of Diriyah's scope. By August 2026 the company reported more than SR110 billion in contract awards and had signed new bank financing. If your role is tied to one asset's completion, such as a hotel, the arena or the opera house, ask what happens to the post if that date moves.
