What Lucid is in Saudi Arabia
Lucid Group is a U.S. electric-vehicle maker headquartered in Newark, California. Its controlling stockholder is Ayar Third Investment Company, an affiliate of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. In the Kingdom, Lucid has a regional headquarters in Riyadh and its second factory, AMP-2, at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). AMP-2 opened in September 2023 as Saudi Arabia's first car manufacturing facility.
What they hire for
Lucid's Saudi vacancies are almost all at the plant. Its April 2026 story on AMP-2 says it is "hiring across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, operations, and more". On Lucid's own job board on 10 October 2026, the King Abdullah Economic City roles fell into these areas:

Outside the plant, the same board listed aftersales roles in Riyadh (service advisor, service technician, process engineer) and in Al Khobar (service parts advisor), plus an embedded-security purple-teaming engineer in Riyadh.
What candidates should know
The plant is between two phases
Lucid's quarterly report for the period to 30 June 2026 describes AMP-2 in two portions:
- SKD (semi-knocked-down), where vehicles are assembled from kits. This portion is complete.
- CBU (completely-built-up), for full vehicle production. Building construction is "substantially completed", with work remaining on "commissioning and fit-out".
Its 2025 annual report gives the CBU portion 150,000 vehicles a year of planned installed capacity. It also says Lucid anticipates "a corresponding increase in our workforce in Saudi Arabia" as that expansion continues in 2026.
Lucid's results release of 4 August 2026 says AMP-2 "has transitioned from construction to industrialization". It says manufacturing systems across stamping, body, paint and final assembly are being installed and commissioned in preparation for production trials.
Lucid has not published a date for the start of complete-vehicle production. Ask the hiring manager when production trials and the start of production are planned, and whether your start date depends on either.
Ask exactly where the job is
Some of Lucid's Saudi adverts give only "Saudi Arabia" as the location. On Lucid's board on 10 October 2026, every one of those was filed under its King Abdullah Economic City office. KAEC is not Jeddah: Arab News describes it as about an hour's drive north of Jeddah. The Riyadh roles on the same board were in aftersales, field-service process engineering and embedded security.

Ask about housing and transport
Lucid's careers pages and its April 2026 AMP-2 story say nothing about housing or transport for plant staff. Ask whether the offer includes housing or a housing allowance, and transport to the plant. Ask where colleagues on your team live, and get the housing and transport answers written into the offer letter.
The same story describes training partnerships with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) and the National Automotive and Vehicles Academy (NAVA) in KAEC, which Lucid presents as developing Saudi talent.
The company reset its operations in 2026
On 22 June 2026, Lucid announced:
- a reduction of about 18% of its U.S. workforce
- the end of the second production shift at its Arizona factory
- the elimination of its Chief Operating Officer position
Both workforce reductions in its 2026 filings, announced in February and June, were of its U.S. workforce. Its results release of 4 August 2026, headlined "Operational Reset", says new financing and operating measures provide "sufficient liquidity runway well into 2027". A fair interview question is how the reset affects the AMP-2 timeline and your team.
